Spyglass was founded in 1992 with a mission to build, scale, and sell category-leading companies across software, healthcare, finance, and construction. Mark then partnered with longtime friends, colleagues, and business partners who, through their own entrepreneurial experiences, had witnessed the impact that innovative companies and the right team can have on individuals, families, communities, and entire industries.
We at Spyglass saw the same pattern repeat: brilliant founders bottlenecked not by ideas or capital, but by their ability to assemble the right people at the right moment. We built the firm we wished we had access to in the past.
Because we only invest our own capital, we don't spend time raising funds or reporting to people or groups outside Spyglass. We focus on what is best for the long-term success of each business rather than on how short-term results might help with raising new capital. Personal investment also sharpens our focus and brings alignment with our partners.
